Fun Dive in Hong Kong

Discover a different side of Hong Kong beneath the surface on scuba. Our fun dive tours take certified divers into clear bays, coral reefs, and marine parks of the UNESCO Global Geopark, where sheer volcanic cliffs above the water hide vibrant coral gardens, schooling fish, and curious marine life clustered around reefs, dolosse structures, and rocky pinnacles.
Cruise out from Sai Kung to sites like Basalt Island, East Dam, or Hoi Ha, then roll in with your dive buddy as professional dive leaders guide you through underwater landscapes of hard corals, reef fish, barracuda, cuttlefish, octopus, and even small wrecks or artificial reef structures that have become busy underwater neighbourhoods.
Between dives, depending on the fun dive tour you choose, there is time to relax on the boat, enjoy surface intervals with coastal views, or explore nearby beaches and rock formations, so your diving day becomes a full Hong Kong marine adventure rather than just a quick in‑and‑out splash at a single site.

Fun Dive FAQs

Are fun dive tours suitable for complete beginners? do I need a certificate?

Fun dive tours are not suitable for complete beginners; they are designed for already‑certified divers. You need at least an Open Water Diver (or equivalent) certification to join our featured fun dive tours, because depths, conditions, and safety standards require proper training and experience.

.

If you do not have a diving certificate, you are warmly invited to join our snorkelling tours instead, which visit the same or similar coral areas and let you enjoy Hong Kong’s marine life from the surface with coaching and full gear, without needing any dive licence.

What day fun dive tours are available?

Fun dive tours are generally available every day during the main dive season, with one full‑day session running from around 08:45–16:30 (including two dives, lunch, and surface intervals).

.

Current day fun dive options include the Sai Kung Basalt Island Fun Dive Tour (Finding NEMO), the Sai Kung East Dam Fun Dive Tour (Finding Dolosse), and the Sai Kung Hoi Ha Fun Dive Tour (Finding Shipwreck)—you can check the live calendar on the Hong Kong Fun Dive Tour page to see exact dates and remaining spaces.

What is the minimum and maximum group size?

There is no fixed minimum or maximum group size for our fun dive tours; certified solo divers, buddy pairs, and large dive groups are all welcome, and we will match you onto a suitable boat and schedule.

.

Each boat has a practical capacity based on safety and comfort, and divers are supervised in small guided groups, so even on days with many participants you will still dive in manageable teams with professional leaders in the water.

Can I book a private fun dive tour?

Yes, you can book a private fun dive tour.

.

For certified divers, it is possible to charter a private boat or customised Geopark tour and build a fun‑dive–focused itinerary (for example combining Basalt Island, East Dam, or Hoi Ha sites), subject to boat and dive leader availability. For private fun dive requests, contact us directly via the private customised tour enquiry page so the team can confirm your group size, certification levels, preferred dates, and create a quote.

What should I wear and bring for the fun dive tour?

Wear swimwear or a thin rash vest and shorts under a wetsuit, plus light, quick‑dry clothing and sandals or trainers for the time on deck and during breaks.

For your fun dive tour, bring:

  • Drinking water, reef‑safe sunscreen, hat and sunglasses
  • Dive boots, towel, and any personal dive gear you prefer to use (mask, computer, SMB, etc.)
  • Waterproof phone case and small dry bag for valuables

Wetsuit, BCD, regulator, mask, and fins are already included on our featured fun dive tours, along with lunch and drinks on board, so you mainly need to prepare sun protection, hydration, and personal comfort items.

What’s the weather cancellation policy for fun dive tour?

Full refund if the cancellation is due to unsafe weather.

The operator may cancel tours for unsafe waves, No. 3 typhoon signal or higher, typhoons, or extreme conditions like Amber/Red/Black rainstorm warnings—full refund guaranteed.
