Kayaking in Hong Kong
Discover a different side of Hong Kong from the waterline. The kayaking tours glide you across the blue bays and volcanic coastlines of the UNESCO Global Geopark, home to the world's largest hexagoanl volcanic rock columns, where towering cliffs, sea caves, and quiet island beaches replace city skylines, and every paddle stroke brings new angles on Hong Kong’s wild side.
Launching from spots like Sai Kung or Clear Water Bay, you’ll kayak in small groups with professional coaching and all gear provided, so beginners and families can feel confident while weaving between sea arches, rock tunnels, and sheltered coves in areas such as South Ninepin Island or Bluff Island.
Depending on the route you choose, there is time to land on remote beaches, float at the cave entrances, or pair your paddle with snorkelling in calm, clear water, turning your kayaking trip into a full coastal adventure rather than just a short round‑trip on the sea.

Are kayaking tours suitable for complete beginners?
Yes, most Hong Kong kayaking tours are suitable for complete beginners, and no prior kayaking experience is required on our beginner routes. These tours use stable kayaks, start with a basic paddling and safety briefing, and are planned in relatively sheltered waters with plenty of breaks.
.
You still need a basic level of fitness and comfort around water, as you will be paddling yourself for most of the trip and getting in and out of the kayak at beaches or rocky shorelines. If you are unsure whether to choose a beginner coastal route (e.g. Sharp Island / Green Egg Island area) or a more advanced Geopark line, contact Splitdyboat and the team can recommend the right level for you.
